While attending Zooms
and answering Slacks,

Our team dreamed about days
when meeting in person
would be back.

They worked from their kitchens,
their living rooms and cozy chairs,

All the while noticing their schedules
for in-person meetings remained bare.

As the end of the year approached
and the desire for human interaction
grew stronger,

The Works Design team knew
they could wait no longer.

As planes took to the air
and trains barrelled down the track,

Slowly they saw the world
they once knew coming back.

They said goodbye to sweatpants
and to endless snacking,

They said goodbye to solitude,
and it was nerve-wracking.

They said goodbye to slippers
and to couch reclining,

But after some thought...
they all found the same silver lining.

A little closer to laughing
and brainstorming
and sitting together.

A little closer to going on
team walks in good weather.

A little closer to sharing lunches
and a funny tale.

A little closer to introductions
that aren’t via email.

When the time is right,
we hope to see you all too,
